iPhone 4 Spirit 2 will NOT Hacktivate your phone

@iH8sn0w Just so everyone knows, every userland jb does not permit Hacktivation because the vulnerability is in the OS, not the Emergency screen.

This was just posted by iPhone hacker @iH8sn0w. He has been working with @comex and the rest of the Dev Team to produce the Userland Jailbreak Spirit2 (or whatever they will name it). If he says this then lets take it as a FACT.

How to Jailbreak 3G using redsn0w

After iOS 4.1 Beta firmware update for developers, Apple has released iOS 4.01 for end users. The newly released iOS 4.01 supports iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.

You can download this update from iTunes or use direct download links of iOS 4.01. iOS 4.01 is just a minor update and doesn’t lock the old jailbreaking methods. The Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 works perfectly on the firmware.

You can use following guide to jailbreak your iPhone on iOS 4.01. Please note that the Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 only supports iPhone 3G, so don’t try it on other devices.
Guide to jailbreak iOS 4.01 with Redsn0w 0.9.5

Requirements:

* iTunes 9.2 – Download from Apple’s site
* iOS 4.01
* Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5

Steps to follow:

1. Download all the files and software mentioned above in the requirements.

2. Open Redsn0w 0.9.5 on the desktop and browse the “iOS 4” firmware, not iOS 4.01.

3. Install Cydia.

4. Check whether your phone is OFF and Plugged in to proceed further in the process.

5. Put your iPhone in recovery mode.

6. Now, follow the screen instructions to continue iOS 4.01 jailbreak.

7. Wait for Redsn0w to complete the process. Once done, iPhone will reboot automatically. That’s it!

You have a jailbroken iPhone running on iOS 4.01 firmware.

TweetDeck for mac

I have been using TweetDeck on the MacBook as my main twitter client for a while now. It is head and shoulders above the rest due to its ease of use and the amount of services it links into. You have it posting and displaying FaceBook, Google Buzz, Foursquare all at the same time whilst posting to them.

There is a pop up every time a new tweet is received which is good if your doing some surfing on the net or anything else. You can even have it play a sound if you wish.

I have tried Tweetie for Mac, Echofon and the rest many time but always seem to come back to TweetDeck. I believe firmly that it is the best client on the MacBook and would recommend it to anyone.
